Fire safety signs

Fire Safety Signs in buildings are designed to show the location of fire equipment, information on what action is required in the event of a fire and safe routes to emergency exits in compliance with The Health and Safety (Safety Signs and Signals) Regulations 1996You can put them up yourself, but can you be confident they are in the best strategic position possible?  The Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997 states that an identity sign should be provided for every piece of fire fighting equipment.

Photoluminescent safety signs absorb ambient fluorescent light to enable them to glow in the absence of any light source and needless to say, the signs themselves are fire retardant.

In dark and smoky conditions or if the electricity supply has failed, these signs will guide your staff to safety or to the location of a fire alarm call point or to fire fighting equipment.  It is important to remember that fires don't always occur in daylight!

There are two main types of photoluminescent safety signs that we supply and / or install:

1. Photoluminescent Self Adhesive Vinyl
This flexible PVC sheet has a photoluminescent layer bonded to a white reflective background and a self-stick backing.

2. Rigid PVC with laminated photoluminescent layer
By far the most popular, these signs incorporate the same photoluminescent layer bonded to a rigid, white reflective background, and are protected by a tough gloss film layer. They can be wiped clean with normal cleaning products and last for up to five years when sited either internally or externally.
