Event Sound Services is a family run business that commenced trading in 1972.
The original core business was the provision of Public Address services for outdoor events, in the main Horse shows, as the founder of the company Michael Faraday owns horses and is a Show Jumping judge. However due to the success of the company this work swiftly grew to encompass Carnivals, Fetes and minor county shows.
In 1988, the business was enlarged and two part time engineers were taken on to supplement the family workforce. Also at this time an investment in new equipment was made and the annual turnover nearly doubled.
A year on year increase in business continued until 2001, when due to the Foot and Mouth epidemic outside events were drastically curtailed and as a result the business took a downturn.
At this time it was decided to diversify the companies activities to reduce the reliance on outdoor events which suffered from cancellations due to the weather as well as being seasonal (April through October) which left a down time of five months.
Therefore from the autumn of 2001 Event Sound Services started to undertake permanent installation work in restaurants, offices and factories of public address systems, telephones systems and Cat5e cabling. Both permanent engineers also gained City and Guild qualifications for P.A.T. ( Portable Appliance Testing ) testing. This change of direction means that the company can now operate during the winter months as well as the summer and is also able to use the free time during week through the summer to service the installation industry.
By 2003 due to the increase in business there were two permanent engineers on staff as well as three part time engineers and an office manager. Event Sound Services also works in conjunction with F.T.S. a company providing computer services and the installation of specialist high quality home audio visual equipment and telephone systems for home or office including least cost routing packages.
In the spring of 2004 Event Sound Services are introducing a 24 hour nationwide maintenance package for installed public address systems to further increase their services to the industry.
