Ed Furst Lyrics

One day I typed 'Continental Hesitation' into a search engine, and discovered to my amazement over twenty listings, including about six reviews, all favourable, and one site with all the lyrics.  To the best of my knowledge, this record was printed about a month late, way too long after the date set for release and radio plugging, and ended up selling about 297 copies, of which I bought one, and my mother bought two.  Continental Hesitation was also supposed to be the B-side!  Apparently it has since appeared on recent CD compilations called Justafixation, Jagged Time Lapse vol.5, and Oddities 2, and possibly on other media I don't know about in between.

At this point I must make it clear that even I don't think that my diction on the record was entirely user-friendly; especially for a song which relies so emphatically on the lyrics.  It is therefore entirely reasonable that all the transcriptions I have seen on the net so far have minor errors.  This 'authorised version' is on the site on the off-chance that anyone is wondering what the unintelligible words are supposed to be.  (It is also exactly what I would have sung on the record if I had remembered to take the best lyric sheet to the session, rather than relying on memory for the finishing touches.  You can't get the staff.)

So much for Continental Hesitation.  Other original Ed Furst songs will probably appear on my other website (www.edfurst.co.uk), which will (eventually) concentrate on my original recordings, as opposed to the more familiar songs I play on live gigs.
